We had a great three days in Atlanta catching up with some friends and former work colleagues. Then we flew to West Florida and enjoyed a few days in Punta Gorda with Patricia and Mike. We visited a genuine Rodeo in Arcadia and had a hot but enjoyable day, followed by dinner on the Punta Gorda Great Western Hotel Balcony where we watched the 4th July Fireworks. Buckhead, Atlanta: LtoR: Stuart in brown, Chris, Aime, Gianni, Irene and Jan.
Imelda and Patricia in the house pool. The water reached 35c most days.
While shopping in Sarasota, we popped down to the beach for a look!
The water was quite warm and the sharks avoided us mad things!
The house backed onto a canal - see the moored boat behind Stuart.
Orca attacks!
All aboard!
Orca wasn't having it!
He held on with his bare hands and determination!
It took three to hold the sheep steady and a brave kid to take on the challenge!
The bulls literally go beserk and kick like mad to get the cowboys off their backs!
The Rodeo Clowns miming to some country & western warble!!! These guys work hard as they entertain the crowds while the cowboys get ready!
See how high the bulls kick!
See how high the bull jumps...
Then he lands...
And jumps again!
This poor cowboy got a kick in the back but the rodeo clowns, whose job it is to distract the bull away from the fallen cowboy, managed to pull him free very quickly.
The Cowgirls demonstrated their horseback skills by running to the clock around three barrels. Boy did they race hard - look at this girl's determination!
You can't imagine the speed of these horses!
Look at her go!
A mad sprint for the finish line!
