The San Francisco 12K "Bay to Breakers" race takes place each year on 16th May. The course involves crossing the Peninsula from San Francisco Bay on the East coast to the Pacific Ocean on the West coast. It is a mostly flat, 7.46 mile run with a steep hill at
the 2.5 mile mark and a gradual downhill through Golden Gate Park.
