I had elective right knee anthroscopy surgery, January 17th, 2002, for a torn meniscus and ligaments. The surgery was easy, but it took three months of daily one and a half hours physiotherapy to flex and bend my knee to the point that it is comfortable. Day three following surgery. My first time out of bed and I'm smiling because I was on strong pain killers and didn't feel anything! It wasn't long before they wore off and I wasn't smiling!
My knee was very swollen for a week following surgery. It had a lot of fluid buildup which ached and ached! Poor me!
Day five after surgery. My knee was stiff and swollen so the ice pack became my best friend! I hobbled up and down the hallway many times hoping it wouldn't take long before I could walk normally! Little did I know there was a long recovery ahead!
